This festive season, Rashu Plastic Project was proud to be part of pop-up markets at Kandima and Nova (Pulse Hotels & Resorts) celebrating local makers and artists in two vibrant resort spaces.

Set against a backdrop of white sand, holiday energy and curious guests, these markets were a chance to share our story and show how discarded plastic can be transformed into meaningful, island-inspired pieces.

Meeting guests face-to-face made the experience extra special. From keychains to jewellery, each item sparked conversations about sustainability, creativity, and the importance of keeping plastic out of our oceans.

One of the most inspiring parts of these pop-ups was meeting other local artists and makers. From handcrafted goods to homegrown brands, each stall carried its own story, passion, and purpose.

Seeing people connect with both the designs and the mission reminded us why we started Rashu Plastic Project in the first place. Sharing space, ideas, and encouragement reminded us how important it is to support and uplift local businesses, especially those rooted in sustainability, ocean preservation and culture.

Overview of the festive market

Being surrounded by such creativity left us feeling inspired and motivated. Supporting each other, learning from one another, and growing together is what helps the local creative scene and environment thrive.

We're grateful to Kandima and Nova for supporting local creatives and giving us a platform during such a busy festive period. Moments like these—with community, collaboration, and conscious shopping—are what keep us moving forward.
