A Plastic Problem in Paradise
The Maldives faces an urgent and growing challenge from plastic pollution, threatening people's health, the marine ecosystem and tourism. A significant portion of waste originates from items such as plastic drinking bottles, cosmetics and food packaging, while ocean currents wash in even more from overseas.
Waste management on local islands is limited, plastic is usually openly burned as a “quick fix".

We collect and recycle HDPE plastic, such as bottle tops, cosmetics and detergent bottles — carefully cleaned, sorted and shredded — before handcrafting them into unique, ocean‑inspired pieces.
